Evaluation of the rapid lateral flow ImmuView® urinary antigen test for the detection of L. pneumophila and Streptococcus pneumoniae

Key Point:

  • First UAT (urinary antigen test) for detection of Legionella and pneumococcal antigen in urine
  • In this evaluation, ImmuView was able to detect LG serogroup: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15  (table 2)
  • The LOD (limit of detection) for a pneumococcal control antigen was 1 x 10-11 mg/ml for ImmuView, compared to  1 x 10-9 mg/ml for Binax NOW (table 4)

How can you use this poster?

Focus on the first UAT for detection of Legionella and pneumococcal antigen in urine, and that ImmuView was able to detect more serogroups than SG 1 for Legionella.

Also draw attention to table 4, where is shows that ImmuView in this evalaution is able to detect lower a level of pneumococcal control antigen than binax NOW
